Start with Confidence
Buying a home isn't one-size-fits-all. Before jumping into a mortgage application, we'll take the time to understand your goals, timeline, and options to help determine the right time to get pre-approved. Choosing the right loan product and financing strategy can strengthen your position when it's time to buy.
When you're ready, a strong pre-approval from The Equitable Bank can give you a competitive advantage. With local decision-making, in-house processing and underwriting, and a dedicated team guiding your loan from start to finish, you'll be ready to make a confident offer when the right home comes along.
The process, step by step
1Talk with a Loan Officer & Get Pre-Approved
We'll start by discussing your goals, timeline, and budget. If you're ready, we'll review your finances, explain your loan options, and provide a pre-approval so you'll know your budget and be prepared to make a confident offer when the right home comes along.
2Find a Home & Make an Offer
Work with your real estate agent to find the right home. Once you've found the one, you'll submit an offer. Throughout the process, we'll stay in close communication with you, your real estate agent, and the other professionals involved to help keep everything moving smoothly toward closing.
3Complete Your Loan Application
Once your offer is accepted, we'll finalize your mortgage application, collect any additional documentation, and prepare your loan to move through processing and underwriting.
4Processing & Underwriting
Our local processing and underwriting team reviews your file, verifies the details, and prepares your loan for approval. Because everything happens locally, we're able to communicate quickly and keep the process moving.
5Appraisal & Final Steps
We'll complete the appraisal, finalize your loan details, and work with everyone involved to prepare for closing.
6Closing
You'll sign your final documents, complete your loan, and officially purchase your new home.
7Move In
Congratulations! Pick up your keys and begin the next chapter in your new home.
